Sohit Karol specializes in unraveling the nuances of human behavior to inform product development and market development strategies and enable engineering teams to embrace the Human-Centered Design processes. He draws from his diverse background in Engineering, Applied Neuroscience, Human Factors, and Ethnography to help define the problem space and enable discovering solutions at scale. Sohit has consulted VCs, C-level executives and startup entrepreneurs, as well as mentored MBA students from leading institutes like Harvard Business School and Chicago Booth on topics like Customer Segmentation, Personas, Jobs To Be Done, UX Frameworks and Experimentation.

Sohit’s current research informs different aspects of flagship Machine Learning based listening experiences on Spotify, including products like Discover Weekly and Daily Mix. In his prior role at Microsoft, Sohit led the research portfolio for multi-modal input interactions and presented several strategic reports to CEO Satya Nadella’s office.

Sohit holds a Post-Doc in Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health, a Ph.D. in Kinesiology (Applied Neuroscience) from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, India.
