Ned is a service designer at the UK’s Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, where he works on a project to create a new digital system to document and track waste and resources.
Alongside his day job he has led a self-starting initiative to create a set of principles to guide the design and delivery of greener services, and this draft set of principles have become a cornerstone of flourishing collaboration between government departments, providing structure for discussions of approaches to training, guidance and the measurement of environmental impacts. Before Defra he worked as a designer in the startup space and then for a couple of agencies, gaining experience on a wide range of project, both large and small.
