Kristin Wisnewski
VP, CIO Design, IBM

From Designer to Design Leader, IBM VP Kristin Wisnewski built a design team core to CIO Fletcher Previn’s mission to create a productive environment for IBMers. This multi-disciplinary team strives to “Make work better” by crafting great experiences that impact hundreds of thousands of IBMers daily. Through DesignOps, Kristin and team transformed the IBM CIO into a design-led organization, achieving striking benefits across the portfolio. Impact to the user experience is now the primary driver of prioritization, and primary measure of success. Her team enjoys high engagement and continues to grow to meet increasing demand, while deepening their DesignOps practices.

At IBM, design doesn’t just get a seat at the table, it’s baked into the fabric of the way its teams work. IBM’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) implemented the CIO Design team to ensure that IBM’s tools and processes lead with design — and with a particular focus on user experience.
