As an experience design leader, Jess Jones has worked in design for 12+ years in the public sector, exploring and solving for complex problems in higher education and most recently the federal government. She believes that everyone can use design methods to make their work more human and more successful. Jess loves the “a-ha” moment her collaborators have when they realize there is a structured, human-centered path through a thorny problem.
Jess is passionate about inclusive design and digital accessibility, with experience in developing and implementing accessibility policy and practices at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She enjoys helping other designers grow their careers through coaching and mentoring and founded the Better by Design conference in Madison, WI. Jess believes that design is best done as a team sport, in which a diverse set of perspectives can bring to life innovative, supportive, and equitable experiences.
