Born to a first-generation American father from the Philippines, Elena followed in her father’s engineering footsteps and pursued a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering. Upon completing her undergraduate studies, she started working at NASA. She then pursued her Master’s in Human Computer Interaction before switching to a career in UX design, research, and strategy. As a woman in tech, Elena also helped found Hexagon UX Houston, a non-profit for women in UX.
