MJ is an independent design management and communications consultant based in the San Francisco Bay Area. In her most recent role as a Senior UX Design Director at GE Digital, MJ led several experience design teams connecting people, data, and machines through software built on Predix, GE’s Industrial Internet platform. MJ’s career expertise and pragmatic, systems-based design leadership has benefited clients including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, College Board, Johnson & Johnson, The McGraw-Hill Companies (including Standard & Poor’s), Pfizer, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Sony Electronics, and the United Nations. MJ has also been a key figure within IxDA. Starting in 2007 as a New York City local leader, she co-chaired the Interaction11 conference, served on the Board of Directors in the office of Treasurer from 2011-2014, and co-chaired the 2015-16 Interaction Awards. An evangelist for drawing, sketching, and the power of visual communication, MJ coaches people in reclaiming their innate drawing skills through instructional workshops of her own design. She is also an avid student of horticulture and enjoys photographing the beauty of design in nature.
