About Michael

Michael is a design leader dedicated to building better products and services in the civic technology space. His experience ranges from establishing design operations (DesignOps) to leading multidisciplinary teams to using human-centered design thinking to create beautiful, usable, standards-compliant web sites to guiding user experience research. He is currently employed as a Senior UX Designer for the U.S. Digital Service at the Department of Homeland Security and serves as the Acting Director of UX Design for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) where he is working to unify and amplify design across the agency by building a DesignOps program.
