Melissa Eggleston
User Experience Researcher and Designer, United States Digital Service

Melissa Eggleston (she/her) is a User Experience Researcher and Designer at the United States Digital Service (USDS). She is currently working on modernizing service delivery for Unemployment Insurance with the Department of Labor. Prior to joining USDS in 2021, Melissa founded Birdcall UX to serve organizations making a positive difference in the world. Projects included designing an app to help human trafficking survivors and content strategy for a global health organization. For the last 13 years, she has helped organizations of all sizes, from large companies to tiny startups, improve the user experience of their websites and apps. She has worked on digital projects for Lenovo, Duke University, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and many others. Melissa also teaches user experience design to graduate students at her alma mater, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she received her M.A. in Visual Communication.
