Agenda
You will spend the day working with stories, trying out techniques from word sketches to cartoons and storyboards. You’ll learn how to shape and share insights from UX research that keep design solutions connected to user needs.
Spend the morning learning about how to use storytelling for user experience to get into the mindset of users. This starts with practicing purposeful user interviews that ask the right questions and crafting stories that express the complexity of experience in an understandable ways.
You’ll learn to identify behavioral patterns in the stories, identify the parts of the user experience that need the most attention, and make a case for solving the biggest design challenges.
In the afternoon, we’ll look at journey arcs to understand the current user experience and pain points. You’ll learn story elicitation techniques to channel your personas for brainstorming and iterations.
We’ll get into the craft of storytelling for user experience and how to create effective stories, packed with lots of detail in a small space, using sketching, story structures, and visual stories. And, we’ll use stories to plan a research session or usability test, bringing the stories full circle.
You’ll leave with a better idea of how to establish a more coherent UX process that delivers more compelling designs because they are based on translating the stories you hear into an ideal user experience.
