Many organizations face difficulties integrating design effectively into Agile workflows and leveraging tools like Jira for design project management. Furthermore, tracking design metrics and managing dependencies and staffing at scale, in high-paced Agile environments, can be a complex endeavor.
In this workshop, we’ll dig into the complexity of managing design operations within Agile environments using tools like Jira. We’ll discuss how to harmoniously integrate design within Agile frameworks, maximize the utility of Jira for managing design workflows, leverage design metrics for insightful program management, oversee multiple design projects concurrently at scale, and effectively map dependencies and staff projects.

Day 1: Integrating Design within Agile, Issue Tracking Systems and Design Metrics (4 hours total)

- Overview: Discuss popular tools like Jira, Asana, and others, along with how to create issues, assign tasks, set deadlines, and manage workflows.
- Hands-on Session: Practice with issue tracking systems in a sandbox environment.
- Discussion: Review which models are working for each setup.
Introduction to Design Metrics (40 minutes)
- Overview: Discuss various types of metrics that could be tracked (usability, engagement, adoption, etc.), and how they can help inform design decisions and demonstrate the value of design to stakeholders.
