Dr. Emory James Edwards (they/he) is a user experience researcher who recently received their Ph.D. in Informatics from University of California, Irvine. His research focuses on Human Computer Interaction and accessibility, particularly inclusive imagery and alt text in organizations. Emory has worked with companies such as Google, Microsoft, and Intel studying topics ranging from voice assistants for indoor navigation to novel movement control schemes for VR avatars. They are currently on the job market and splitting their time between research projects, job applications, and renovating their house near Seattle, Washington.
