Sohui (pronounced SO-hee) was born in Seoul, Korea and moved to NYC at age 10, in a household where food and entertaining were a regular event. She honed her culinary career working under a number of lauded chefs, including Dan Barber, Michael Anthony, Peter Hoffman, and Anita Lo. In 2005, Sohui was convinced by her husband Ben Schneider that they go forth on their own, and together they opened The Good Fork in Red Hook, followed several years later by their Korean BBQ and karaoke hotspot Insa in Gowanus. Gage & Tollner marks the third and largest (and last, she swears this time) endeavor in Sohui’s collection of beloved Brooklyn eateries. Gage and Tollner has now opened to glowing reviews from New York Times and other outlets.
