Ellen is a Partner at boldstart ventures investing in enterprise infrastructure, SaaS, and developer tooling companies. Before joining the boldstart team in January 2021, she was the CEO & co-founder of Dark, a programming language coupled to its editor and infrastructure.

Prior to her roles as an investor and founder, she worked in a variety of early stage product roles across industries. She was VP of Product at Lola working on AI and chat enabled tooling to book travel. She also led backer-facing product efforts on Kickstarter and contributed to on the first versions of cross-platform Office Mobile at Microsoft.

Ellen has an a M.B.A from Harvard Business School, and a B.S in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering. She grew up in Rochester Hills, MI, and now lives in Somerville, MA with her husband, her son, and her cat.
