Meet Basel Fakhoury, CEO at User Interviews

Rosenfeld Media: Why are you sponsoring this year’s Advancing Research?

Basel Fakhoury: The quality of the speakers, programming, and attendees is world class, and we’re thrilled to be returning after a great experience last year.

Rosenfeld Media: What excites you about Research and/or Research Operations?

Basel Fakhoury: Our customers are researchers and research ops professionals and they’re the best! We are constantly learning from and inspired by their approaches to uncovering user insight through a wide array of qualitative and quantitative methods. We’re happy to be able to streamline the less enjoyable parts of research—recruiting and managing logistics—so researchers can focus on talking to users, gathering insights, and sharing them out with their teams to make a big impact.

Rosenfeld Media: What is it like for researchers and ResearchOps people to work at your company/organization?

Basel Fakhoury: We’re actually in the process of hiring our first UX researcher to build out our UXR team! We’re looking for someone with a breadth of experience, excited to build this function from scratch at a company that places a huge value on user research. They’ll work closely with every team and report directly to the CEO, since we believe research benefits everyone and it deserves a prominent seat at the table.

Rosenfeld Media: What is your culture like, who would they work with, and who are the champions?

Basel Fakhoury: We are fully remote, and always have been, even in the before times. This is core to our culture, where we rely on lots of async communication and trust. We’re a diverse group of smart people with a lot of empathy for our customers and each other. We’re outcome oriented but prize a healthy work-life balance and sustainable growth. We try to practice what we preach and bring user insight into decision making consistently.

Rosenfeld Media: What types of value and benefits do you/your product bring to the practice and our community?

Basel Fakhoury: We make the worst parts of UX research faster, better, easier. We offer two products. Recruit features a panel of over 450,000 participants, and tools to screen for, schedule, and pay the participants you need for your research. Research Hub allows researchers to build and maintain their own panel of participants and includes a free forever option for up to 100 participants.

Basel Fakhoury: We love what we do and we love what you researchers do. We’re here to help do our part to advance research.
