Dr Brian Moss is the User Research Lead for Sopra Steria in the United Kingdom. In his current role Brian plans, delivers and consults on a wide variety of research projects within the government and public sector. Along with this, Brian manages a dedicated team of researchers as they work constantly towards the goal of improving public services, especially for the most vulnerable members of our society. This often sees Brian and the researchers he leads engaging in highly sensitive subjects and adopting a trauma-informed approach to support their work with members of the public.
Originally from Northern Ireland, Brian moved to England and earned a PhD from Newcastle University for research which examined the felt and empathetic connections relating to cultural landscapes and mobile technology. This involved Brian’s passion and specialist area in creative ethnographic and empathetic approaches to research. In his career to date, Brian has conducted and lead user research teams working across a wide variety of sectors and industries in the UK and Ireland. While the subject matter may vary from project to project, the constant is the high-level of care and attention they bring to user research engagements.
