Violet co-leads Spatial Pixel, a creative studio building a “new kind of spatial computer, one for your space, not for your face. Spatial Pixel explores new ways that technology can foster communal and meaningful interactions in the physical world, tacking against the ubiquity of screens and isolating, individualist devices Violet served as director of product at Sidewalk Labs, the Google future cities initiative, where she started a generative design product now part of Google Earth. Today she teaches tangible and spatial computing at University of Pennsylvania, University of Michigan, and Columbia University. Her research focuses on natural human computer interactions with multimodal AI.
