Julie recently joined Illumina as Sr Director of UX, building a team dedicated to improving human health through design thinking. Formerly Julie had led Citrix\u2019 Customer Experience team for SaaS products which included responsibility for product design and user research. She joined Citrix in 2010 and led product design for Enterprise products including XenClient, Cloud Platform and several new enterprise products such as App Orchestration. In the past two years, Julie\u2019s team was responsible for driving design thinking across the business and training employees on innovation practices.<\/p>\n
Prior to Citrix, Julie ran the design team for the shared platform of Adobe\u2019s Creative Suite and led user research for Photoshop. She has designed everything from websites (xerox.com) to online education (building an online MBA program) to training programs (Charles Schwab, National Semiconductor) to computer networks (Onizuka Airforce base, ZiffDavis Labs).<\/p>\n
Julie earned her BA at Wesleyan University in cognitive science and a PhD in Learning Sciences \u2013 an interdisciplinary program of cognitive science, artificial intelligence and education at Northwestern University.
