Other fields, like filmmaking, have long understood the importance of narrative structure. In The User\u2019s Journey,<\/em> Donna Lichaw<\/strong> brings that same line of thinking to UX, and demonstrates how storymapping really can help us design and test just about anything\u2014from landing pages to product strategies.<\/p>\n

This last point is no exaggeration. For example, we were carefully following Donna\u2019s advice when we developed last year\u2019s Enterprise UX conference program<\/a>. Thinking about story arc helped us make sure attendees had energy left over for the conference\u2019s reception after an intense day of presentations.<\/p>\n

So, while I\u2019m biased, I really do think you\u2019ll benefit from reading The User\u2019s Journey<\/a>,<\/em> regardless of what you\u2019re designing. And, at 160 pages, the book is short and sweet.<\/p>\n
