You might already be familiar with Jorge&#8217;s writing; he co-authored the 4th edition of the polar bear book with Peter Morville and me.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rosenfeldmedia.com\/books\/living-in-information\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-51996 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/rosenfeldmedia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Living-in-Info-cover-180x270.jpg\" alt=\"living in information book jorge arango\" width=\"180\" height=\"270\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Jorge&#8217;s background is in architecture and\u2014not surprisingly\u2014his book is structured around the concept of designing\u00a0<em>places,\u00a0<\/em>rather than products and services. As an information architecture guy, I&#8217;m really excited by this metaphor; it opens up whole new possibilities in how we understand what we&#8217;re designing. We already have a whole vocabulary around\u00a0place; it&#8217;s time we applied it to our design process and saw ourselves as\u00a0<em>placemakers. <\/em>Really, we have no choice\u2014as Jorge points out, we are already literally living in information.
