As of May 31, 2017, this workshop is sold out.

Designing and building large, enterprise products requires many different people with many different skills to somehow work together. Product managers, designers, and researchers, in particular, have to be able to collaborate in order to produce the best outcomes. And, of course, it’s much easier to collaborate with people you understand. That’s why it’s critical that designers and researchers learn more about what product managers do and why.

In this full day workshop, Laura Klein and Kate Rutter will teach researchers, designers, and design managers a crash course in many of the things you need to know about product management.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Incorporate business goals, metrics, and other quantitative data into making design decisions without sacrificing the user experience.
  • Design more effectively in an Agile environment without skipping user research.
  • Get product management constructively involved in design.
  • Frame design decisions more effectively for a business audience.
  • Experiment and track designs in a way that helps improve the user experience long term.
