Ian stumbled into the world of UX after starting out his career in mechanical engineering. After brief detours into the worlds of industrial design, structural engineering, and architecture, he gained an appreciation for the concept of human centered design and obtained a master\u2019s degree from the University of Washington\u2019s HCDE program. Since then, his path has taken him from studying the trafficking of electronic waste in Ghana, to understanding wayfinding in public transit, to Smartsheet where he researches how to improve the way we work.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
