A Selectively Scrappy Approach to ResearchOps

As your design organization grows, you have to figure out how to make the best use of your limited time. If you’re a researcher or leading a team of researchers, that means deciding how much time to spend establishing best practices and defining the set of activities best suited to your context, determining what rigor and excellence mean to you, identifying the right tools and assets to help you manage your work, defining your participant cultivation and recruitment process—never mind actually planning for, conducting, and making sense of high-quality research.

Megan Blocker will talk about how to decide where to invest your precious time and attention for maximum impact. In other words, where is it most important for your team to get serious about ResearchOps, and where is it okay to stay scrappy? How can you grow sustainably by picking and choosing your battles? It all depends on your goals, your context, and your priorities. We’ll talk about a framework for making those decisions, and about how applying it worked for our growing team.
